We are all sinners. How I long for a pure heart, full of His spirit, never fleeting and always present, alert and at the ready. I pray daily to be His faithful servant, to be a beacon for the lost or seeking. Sin disconnects us from God to the point of questioning His existence.

 

I was perfect in my own mind, my exterior was shiny like chrome, and I learned how to polish it so when I looked in the mirror I saw a shiny reflection. But sin eats away at us on the inside and it’s easy to ignore until the rust spots start showing through and the reflection isn’t all that shiny anymore, blemishes appear out of no where.

 

Joy became a mask I put on each morning that would dissolve each evening. My family relationships suffered and I had no clue why. I couldn’t fix it. I was a failure as a father and a husband, or at least that’s how I felt, the rust, eating away at me. Christ freed me from this internal rot, He broke every chain wrapped around my neck. He can do the same for you too.
