Psalms 63:1-5
‘You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you. ‘
All the Glory to You God, I have read these Psalms over and over the last few days. From my recent trip abroad where Christianity is all but dead, the branches brittle and parched to here in the USA where deception is found around every corner. I can’t help but give myself over to the will of Christ each and everyday, my prayers reflect the same, not just for me but for you too. There is no human love that compares to His Love in us. For so long my thirst and hunger was of this world, to accumulate to fulfill the American dream, a dream that is now so empty and devoid of anything but self.
Your sanctuary is the garden of Peace, where mercy and grace roam freely. My lips will always sing your praise, not because of my faith in you, but because of Your faith in me. I pray for this land, a country that was built around faith in You that has turned inward and away from You. Become the center point once again, the guiding Light that built the foundations of America. Season my words with Salt Lord, so they may be received and open the ears of the deaf and the eyes of the blind. In Your most Holy name Jesus, Amen.
