Proverbs 16:24 (NIV): Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
The word gracious can be defined in two ways. From the Oxford dictionary as curteous, kind and pleasant. However, in Christianity, a lot of the words used in the Bible are either Hebrew or Greek and may have numerous other meanings than what the translations purport. Gracious for example, means ‘showing divine grace’ or merciful, forgiving, compassionate, or kind.
I believe grace can be further defined as an undeserved gift, certainly that is what God has given all of us! Remember the tongue shows the essence of the heart. Let’s use His Grace in our words instead of harshness, especially to those we are bonded to. To lead with love is to be full of grace, softening your heart with each utterance.
